Court Watch: Roundup for DuPage and Kane County court cases

Here's a roundup of recent developments in DuPage and Kane county court cases.

DUPAGE:
Elmhurst:
Attorneys in the case of an Elmhurst man accused of stealing money from Messiah Lutheran Church could be close to an agreement. Robert Drefs appeared in court Feb. 14 when his public defender said prosecutors had made a revised offer to settle the case. Drefs, who is scheduled to return to court on March 12, was arrested last year on charges he forged $32,000 in checks belonging to the church.

Kane County:
St. Charles:
A man charged with theft in connection to stolen money from Super Target pleaded guilty to theft and was placed on two years of probation. Anthony Allen was arrested last year along with Nicole Jurkowski after store security investigated money missing from cash registers. Allen was also ordered to pay $5,160 in fines and costs, which also includes $3,205 in restitution. Jurkowski had sought to be placed in a pretrial diversion program, but remains wanted on a warrant after failing to appear in court. Prosecutors have said Jurkowski took the money over several months and gave it to Allen.
