Benet Academy Commends Its Student Athletes, Musicians

The school announces IHSA sports and music participants, and other interesting Lisle-related items that hit the Internet today.

Benet athletes making the most of post-season
Benet Academy congratulated several of its fall athletic teams this week. Boys soccer won the regional championship, girls' tennis finished sixth in state, five girls' cross country runners and one boys' runner will advance to sectionals in St. Charles, the soccer team advanced to the sectional semifinal at Naperville North, the freshman football team goes to the championships on Thursday, and varsity football will play Wheaton's Warrenville South on Friday night in the Class 7A IHSA playoffs.

Benet Academy premiered a YouTube video of their jazz combo performing. They also announced which students have been selected to perform at IMEA this year: band members Lisa Jareczek and Emma Stewart on flute, Nathan Parisi on trumpet; Isabelle Hanson and Scott Johnston on violin in the orchestra; tenor Justin Rosado in the jazz choir; and choir members Laura Sportiello, Victoria Newhuis, Kristin Brintnall, Nini Marchese, Lauren Gaydos, Allison Jacobs, Sara Mitman, Lauretta Sterner, Brittany Mote, Theresa Moen, Chris Siemann, Conor Culloton, Anthony Garvert, Brett Bush, Justin Rosado, Chris Hardin and Christian Kas.

Navistar sued for breach of settlement
The Canton Daily Ledger reported the City of Canton's efforts to sue Navistar, claiming the company did not uphold a 2001 agreement with the EPA regarding the the former International Harvester Co. (IH) property. Navistar recently announced it would transfer its administrative headquarters to Lisle.
