Five Things: Valentine Activities for Kids

Whether they love literature, theater, food, or the great outdoors, you can find a fun, Valentine-related activity for every child.

Who:
What: Does your child love reading? Take them to the Youth Services department where they can in exchange for a sweet treat. The library's Teen Advisory Board will choose and award Valentine's chocolates to their top three favorites!
When: through Thursday evening, Feb. 9.

 

Who:
What: Take advantage of the rock climbing wall and jump. Each child will receive a treat bag when they leave. $10 per per child; have kids wear red and get $1 off per child. Reservations are requested but not required. Space is limited. For information on dinner deals, or to reserve a space, call 630-310-5700.
When: Friday, Feb. 10, 6-8 p.m.

What: Have a family affair with the museum's Family Fun Friday Nights, which is free to Museum members, or with Museum admission. Catch a preview of Washington Junior High School's performance of "Willy Wonka Jr."
When: Friday, Feb. 10. Performances begin at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

What: In addition to several adult-oriented choclate events, the Morton Arboretum is offering two child-friendly sessions, too. Make a chocolate pizza ($10 members/$15 non-members), or master the art of chocolate crepes ($20 members/$30 non-members).When: Make chocolate pizza on Feb. 19, and crepes on Feb. 20. Sessions for both classes begin at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
