Pet Store Teams With Animal Rescue to Offer Cat Adoptions

You may have noticed some furry additions to the merchandise at Thornton's All Pet Pantry--they're adoptable cats from Waifs & Strays. Thornton has also extended the store's operating hours.

I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that the Thornton family loves animals.

Before Tom Thornton opened the doors of  here on Main Street, he and his wife, Lori, started . The couple owns their own brood of pets, and have been active fosters through German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. for more than a decade.

Now, they're helping match other residents with furry new family members. All Pet Pantry has teamed up with Waifs & Strays to offer adoptable cats at the store.

Thornton said a select number of cats are available for viewing during store hours. He also maintains a page on All Pet Pantry's website of available animals. Right now the store is hosting a litter of kittens and their mother, Misty.

Waifs & Strays conducts the adoption process. The animal rescue is currently seeking  for the store to help care for and engage the cats.

While dogs are not available in the store, those interested can contact Waifs & Strays to arrange an appointment to see their available canines.

Another recent change: Thornton made the decision to open the store an hour earlier on weekdays, and an additional two hours on Sundays. Thornton said he was already allowing customers who stopped by early to shop, as long as he was already in the store, so it made sense to adjust the hours.
