Lisle Pizza Place Gets Name Change

Can you taste the difference? While Lucano's Pizza & Catering offers several similar items to the Barraco's menu, customers can expect more than 20 new additions (including double dough pizza!).

Did anyone notice the change to this weekend?

The owners of the pizza place at 2950 Ogden Ave. recently ended its franchise agreement with Barraco’s, and re-launched as Lucano's Pizza & Catering this past Friday.

“We wanted to stay in the community, but just change the name,” said owner Alex Dreznes.

The restaurant offers delivery and catering of its full menu of pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches. (Carry-out is also available, of course!) Dreznes said that while customers can expect several familiar items, they were able to lower menu prices since they are no longer paying franchise fees. 

There was a tweak to the pizza recipe that earned Barraco’s the title of , but Dreznes said customers have reported reactions from, "I can't taste the difference," to "This pizza is better."

In addition to a new double dough pizza, more than 20 new minute options include toasted ravioli, fried calamari, American and Italian sub sandwiches, several new salads, and dough nuggets, which are finished with powdered sugar.

The restaurant will be open 11 a.m.-10p.m., Sunday through Friday. Saturdays they'll serve for an additional hour in the evening. Check the Lucano’s website for grand opening coupons, which are effective through June 14.
