Lisle Hilton Snags Pageant Beauties

The village will host an oldies-themed parade and block party to welcome the new event to town.

The Lisle Hilton secured a new event for next year, and it comes with a celebration by the village.

Lisle will host the U.S. Beauties National Pageant Contest, which includes categories for Miss, Ms. and Mrs. contestants, July 8-10. Previously held in Schaumburg, festivities will begin with a parade through the downtown to introduce the contestants. The pageant will take place at Naperville's Wentz Center. The theme is "'50s to '90s flashback."

Larry Slade, sales manager for the Lisle Convention and Visitors Bureau,  confirmed that the parade would run down Main Street between Burlington and Ogden avenues. The Downtown Business Council Committee, which oversees the village's car shows, discussed the pageant at its August meeting. To complement the pageant's theme, the DBCC will host a car show and block party immediately after the parade. Guests will include the Oldies But Goodies Cruise Night Organization. The pageant parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. so it will not compete with commuter traffic.
