Navistar closing more plants? More jobs cuts?

NAV had 1428 jobs in Melrose Park in 2010. Just a small fraction left. My guess, Melrose Park Engine Plant (UAW) will close. How timely, contract negations are coming up.

Would a corporation plan to fail?...craft a scheme certain and destined to fail with no plan b?...a plan touted to investors as clever, innovative and solid... internally, a plan for failure to facilitate a seemingly legitimate bankruptcy to wipe out billions in debts from warranty claims, pension obligations? No... couldn't happen. That would be fraud. Stuff like that only happens in the movies.

Interesting theory. I've wondered why a company would refuse to testify under oath at a zoning hearing.

It happens. Corporations do this to rid themselves of pension obligations, union contracts, and debt. http://socialistworker.org/2012/01/03/corporate-bankruptcy-scam

Navistar cut 800 more jobs? Why did Lisle give them so much of our tax money?

There could be ALOT more NAV cuts coming in the near future in Lisle if Icahn gets Oshkosh and Navistar combined. See today's Wall Street Journal... http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2012/10/11/icahn-turns-sights-back-to-oshkosh-with-buyout-bid/?mod=yahoo_hs

Kodak is asking bankruptcy court to end retiree's medical benefits. Could this be Nav's plan, too? There are alot of Nav/International Harvester retirees that would be effected by something like this.. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20121011/business/710119938/
