Best Apple Pie in Lisle Contest

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Mixers for the “Best Apple Pie in Lisle Contest”
    Lisle, IL – Wheatstack - A Midwestern Eatery & Tap, located at 5900 S. Route 53, is hosting the first “Best Apple Pie in Lisle Contest” on Saturday, August 4, with the support of the Lisle Park District. Lisle residents are invited to enter as many varied two-crust apple pies as they can bake, and keep in mind that creativity is essential for a healthy competition! Besides the glory and high acclaim of having the best homemade apple pie in Lisle, the winner will also have the honor of having their apple pie featured at Wheatstack during the month of August. Detailed contest rules and the registration form can be found online at: www.WheatstackLisle.com/events. The completed form and $5 registration fee must be submitted by Wednesday, August 1 to Lisa Leone at the Lisle Park District, 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle, IL 60532. Only the first 20 registrations will be accepted and judged.
    The apple pie(s) submitted in the “Best Apple Pie in Lisle Contest” must be brought to Wheatstack – A Midwestern Eatery & Tap by 2pm on Saturday, August 4. Judging will take place from 3pm-4pm and special Lisle dignitaries will be the judges, including: Wheatstack’s Executive Chef Tim Dowling, Lisle Park District Board Commissioner Debra Morse, and two other surprise judges. Judging criteria will be based on appearance, crust, flavor, filling and creativity. 
    Then, stick around after the “Best Apple Pie in Lisle Contest” for Wheatstack’s second annual Great American BBQ from 4pm-10pm. This year’s event will feature live music from Tomorrow’s Alliance, winners of the Lisle Park District local Illinois Battle of the Bands from 4pm-6pm, The Next Tuesday Band from 7pm-10pm, pie your favorite Lisle Park District staff in the face with prizes, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, barbequed food and drink specials.
