Crain's Chicago: 400 New Navistar Jobs Certain, Current Job Retention Unclear

The company's state tax credit application agrees to maintain 2,200 current jobs in-state.

It's long been a debate how many jobs Navistar will bring to Illinois, though the "golden number" seemed to be roughly 3,000.

The State of Illinois approved the application in March.

The Citizens for Healthy Development raised questions on Navistar's application earlier this year, estimating a more significant impact on employment for the region as a whole.
