Another Lisle Restaurant Bites the Dust

The village is down one pizza place after Vini's of Lisle closed its doors.

Roughly two weeks after the village revoked its liquor license, a downtown Italian eatery has closed its doors.

A representative with the confirmed that is closed indefinitely. Though there's no "goodbye!" note on the door, a comedy event planned for this Saturday evening is canceled.

Last month the village determined that Vini's had violated its liquor license regulations.

Business office manager Kristine Curran said the business was transferred to a new owner who was ineligible to hold a liquor license. The owners did not inform the village of the license transfer.

Curran said village staff held hearings on Aug. 1 and 8. According to documentation posted on the front door at Vini's (featured in the gallery above), the business's liquor license was immediately revoked for the duration of the hearing.

She said Mayor Joe Broda made the decision to revoke the business's liquor license on Aug. 16. According to Curran, Vini's was still eligibile to conduct business without the liquor license.

It is not confirmed whether the business's closing is directly related to the loss of its liquor license.

It is the second restaurant in the village to shut down this summer. At the end of July the Big Apple Pancake House, located on the border of Lisle and Naperville, .
