FINAL UPDATE: Summer Reading Program, By the Numbers

How many books have Lisle Library summer program participants read?

The Lisle Library kicked off the for their Summer Reading Program at the beginning of June, and children and adult patrons alike have dug into the stacks. Library staff have provided their weekly totals.

The children's program ends today, with 1,073 total participants. They barreled through 17,362 books this summer. That's an average of 16 books per child! The program's 288 teen participants ended the season with 2,316 books read—about 8 books per participant.

Lisle readers made quite a dent in the Library's collection, with 21,396 books. (The library boasts more than 120,000 books alone, meaning they consumed about 17 percent of the building's stacks!)
