Crimes of the Heart

Players Please Theatre (PPT), proudly present the Pulitzer Prize Winning play “Crimes of the Heart,” written by Beth Henley. PPT’s production, directed by Jim Bruner, features Lisa Dawn Foertsch, Becky Crawford and Nicolette Lalor. “Crimes of the Heart” is produced with special special arrangement through Dramatist's Play Service.

PPT is excited to announce its season premiere at its new home at Trinity Lutheran Church Green Trails, a beautiful 300 seat theatre located in Lisle at 2701 Maple Ave.

“Crimes of the Heart” takes place in Hazlehurst, Mississippi in 1973 and tells the heartfelt story about the three Magrath sisters who are reunited when tragedy strikes. The oldest sister, Lenny, has been taking care of their aging grandfather and turning into an old maid.  Meg, the middle sister, has been away, trying to break into Hollywood with her gifted voice but is victim to her vices of booze and too many men.  Babe, the youngest, is the family debutante in Hazlehurst society. Events during the reunion bring the three sisters closer together, but not without their conflicting personalities causing tension.
