ABC Channel 7's Morning News will be broadcasting live from Geneva's historic Third Street to promote the start of Swedish Days on Tuesday, June 17.
The city of Geneva is hoping for a big crowd to show up to help showcase the community festival, which will be held June 17 through June 22. The full schedule for Swedish Days can be viewed above or on the Chamber website.
Starting at 5:25 a.m., the Geneva Chamber of Commerce's Laura Rush will do a live interview with Channel 7 anchors. Live shots of Geneva will be shown throughout the 4:30 to 7 a.m. broadcast.
"We know it is early, but come on down starting at 5 a.m. We are looking to have hundreds of people down on Third Street during the broadcast and during the live shots," according to a city of Geneva press release. "Wear blue, yellow or anything Geneva and show your community and Swedish Days spirit."
From a traffic perspective, the 100 block of Third Street (right by the Historic Courthouse building) will be closed to traffic from 4:30 to 7 a.m. during the broadcast.
"We need everyone’s help to show what an enthusiastic, happy and wonderful place Geneva is and that Swedish Days is still alive at 65," according to the news release.
