Patch Picks: Best Places for St. Paddy's Day Fun

St. Patrick's Day is fast upon us, and you don't want to be left crying in your green beer because you didn't make any plans!  Patch is here to help you find the "green scene" right here in Lisle.

On March 17, Mullen's will open at 10 a.m. for St. Patrick's Day, with no cover charge all day.  From 4-7 pm listen to live Irish music from Celtic Sounds; starting at 9:30 pm the Hat Guys will come to the stage.  Irish food, Harp, Guinness, Smithwicks and Jameson will be featured.  If weather permits, the beer garden will be open - but this IS Chicagoland, so they'll need a LOT of Irish Luck for that to happen.

Looking for something a little more kid-friendly?  Pump It Up is featuring a Family Jump on St. Patrick's Day.  Try your luck at winning some great prizes and don't forget to wear green (and socks.) Rumor has it a dancing Irish leprechaun may make a surprise appearance...

Maple Avenue is throwing a St. Patrick's Day party on March 17 from 11 am to midnight. They're featuring beads, green beer, live music, and corned beef, as well as a visit from the Girls of Michael Collins.

The 12th annual Spring Sprint takes place Sunday, March 13 at 7:30 a.m.  The 5K run/walk, 10K run winds through Lisle's scenic Community Park, with pre- and post- run activities  held in the park as well.  Registration closes at 3 p.m. on March 10, 2011 for the run itself, but spectators are welcome to join in the accompanying activities.  Check the Chamber's website for details.
