Lisle VFW Post 5696 Currently in Third Place in Contest, Votes Still Needed
Lisle VFW Post 5696 is one of four nonprofits competing for $25,000 in Foundation's Aprons in Action Program. The winner will compete for an additional $250,000 in contest finale.

The organization that receives the most votes during the month If VFW Post 5696 triumphs, they will then go up against 10 other finalists early next year for a chance to win $250,000 from The Home Depot Foundation.

Post 5696 officials said the $25,000 from The Home Depot would allow them to make some long needed repairs to their facility and contribute to the construction of a Veterans Memorial in downtown Lisle.
"So help us make a difference by voting everyday on Facebook, and tell everyone you know to do the same," said Brett Nila, commander of the Lisle VFW Post 5696.
