Learn About Lisle (Or the Cosmos)

There is a lot to learn around the village this weekend, as well as live entertainment.

We’ve got the best bets for when the work week is over and you're ready to get out. Check our picks for the activities to hit.

1. DEPOT DAYS
Where/When: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday at , 921 School St.
Why Go: the roots and early history of Lisle. features food, entertainment, family fun and more. Enjoy blacksmithing demonstrations, grind corn, sample some old-fashioned homemade apple pie and see what life was like almost 100 years ago.
Pricing: Free.

2. COMEDY NIGHT
Where/When: 9-11 p.m. Saturday at , 5900 State Route 53.
Why Go: sharing top billing: The always hilarious Fritz makes his Wheatstack debut with Denise Ramsden, recent winner of the Midwest Region for the 2011 World Series of Comedy. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Pricing: $20/person includes two drinks; $35/person includes 3-course dinner, tax and tip included.

3. STARGAZING
Where/When: 7-10:30 p.m. Saturday at , 1s151 Winfield Rd., Wheaton.
Why Go: View planets and stars through various telescopes and learn how to identify star constellations with the naked-eye. Children will enjoy making their own colored sand keychain in the Visitors Center to take home. Viewing will take place on the Parade Field outside of the Visitors Center.
Pricing: Free.

4. GIN SOAKED OLIVES
Where/When: 10 p.m. Saturday at , 5750 Lakeside Dr.
Why Go: The cover band says, "if we didn't sound good, then you didn't drink enough."

5. AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS THEATRE-HIKE
Where/When: 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at , 4100 Lincoln Ave.
Why Go: "" is performed while hiking through the Arboretum grounds. Each theatre-hike presents a different scene at a different location on the Arboretum grounds. Audience members walk to each location to enjoy the unfolding story. Regular hikes, which can cover up to two miles with multiple stops along the way, are on Saturdays, and low-impact hikes (suitable for strollers, walkers and wheelchairs) are on Sundays.
Pricing: $13-$19.
