Fundraiser Friday to Benefit Shaun Wild Scholarship

Buffalo Wings and Rings will be donating 15 percent of its sales Friday to the newly created scholarship fund.

A Naperville business will be holding a fundraiser Friday that will benefit the newly created Shaun Wild Memorial Scholarship.

Buffalo Wings and Rings, located at 1279 Rickert Drive, will be holding a fundraiser Friday. The business has said it will donate 15 percent of the entire day’s sales to the scholarship fund.

Spring Brook Elementary School Principal David Worst sent an e-mail to school community members alerting them to the fundraiser.

The brother of the local franchise owner played basketball with Wild every Friday, except when he was away at college, and the family wanted to do something help raise money in Wild's memory, a spokesman for the business said.

The Wild family announced last week that a scholarship fund had been created.

“The Wild family and friends will continue Shaun's vision and feed his passion by inspiring future generations of student athletes, awarding a scholarship in Shaun's name," the family said in a statement last week.

Wild was killed early Feb. 4 after police said Daniel J. Olaska stabbed him and two other people at a bar in downtown Naperville.
