God Up Close: An evening with Steve Case and Kirk Moore at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Downers Grove
Author Steve Case arrives in town for a rambunctious evening of stories and songs as Steve speaks and Kirk sings, Sunday, October 14th at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Downers Grove, IL. Admission to “God Up Close” is free, though we’ll take a freewill offering, too.
“I love to tell stories” remarks Steve Case, storyteller for the evening. “Whether it’s a crowd of 1000 teenagers or a small workshop of church leaders, I invite the audience to see the world with their "God-eyes" and listen with their "God-ears”.

Steve Case (stevecasespeaks.net) has been described as “a rainbow colored exploding dye pack of ideas and creativity.” His exceptional storytelling ability and humor brings audiences of all ages into his thinking and message. Steve’s been a writer and speaker for 25 years, and is the author of such books as 52 Ways to Ignite Your Congregation... Youth Ministry, The Book of Uncommon Prayer, The Caffeine Series, and God Up Close, from which the stories of the evening are drawn.
Kirk Moore, a 1983 graduate of Downers Grove North High School, is the pastor of St. Paul’s UCC. He’s been described as “that guy who is going to sing and play guitar in between the stories by Steve Case.” Kirk’s been playing guitar, singing, and entertaining all types of crowds for the past 25 years.

God Up Close: is part of a “Stay All Day” Sunday at St. Paul’s. On October 14, we have worship at 9:45 am, Crop Walk kicks off from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm, We’re coordinating with First Congregational Church in Downers Grove to fill up a truck for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore all day, and Then Steve speaks and Kirk sings at 7:00 pm.
