Lisle Physician Recognized for Excellent Bedside Manner

Lisle resident Dr. George Holmes, a Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush foot and ankle specialist, recently received high rankings in patient communication in a national survey of hospital patients.  He was among the top ten percent of physicians nationwide.  The survey used to determine these rankings is the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) national survey of patient experience.  It is endorsed by the National Quality Forum (NQF), an organization established to standardize health care quality measurement and reporting.

    About HCAHPS

HCAHPS provides a standardized survey instrument and data collection system for measuring patients' perspectives on hospital care. While many hospitals have collected their own information, prior to HCAHPS there was no national standard for collecting patient care information that enabled valid comparisons to be made across all hospitals.
