WINNER: Where Do You Take Your Dry Cleaning?
Patch shares readers' most popular local business choices.
Thanks to those who placed their vote for their most trusted dry cleaner. After monitoring a close race for most popular breakfast spots, and a very close one last week for favorite pizza, I expected a similar trend here. Not so.
Several readers made it clear on the first day of voting that they were ardent customers of Leo's Cleaners, securing more than 80 votes on the first day alone! Throughout the week, voters brought the establishment up to an even 100.
When I mentioned the strange trend to my ad manager, Jackie Lobdell, last week, she didn't seem fazed. "You swear by your dry cleaner," she said.
Commenter Evelyn is proof. Here's what she had to say about her experience as a Leo's regular. "Moved to Lisle in 1975. Working downtown always went to Leo's for my clothes cleaning. Over the years had drapes cleaned and naturally the present ownership continue to use them. Only once did I go to an oriental cleaners for (thought cheaper cleaning of drapes) where the drapes were shrunk. Never used anyone else again."
Leo's is the only option that consumers trust, however. Our readers also showed their support for Lee Cleaners and Cleaners Depot. (And if you want to tell us why, it's not to late. Leave a message in the comments!)
