Peaceful Protest at puppy parlor

Wow!  Look at all these dedicated people spreading the word about where the puppies at puppy parlor come from, puppy mills.  Not only do they use JAK'S puppies, Oleo Acres and, Conrad Kennels, in my opinion they are breeding dogs in the back room.  According to the Illinois Department Of Agriculture reports we have, there are 40 - 60 adult dogs in the back room, 2 to a cage.  Once again, I ask, where do these dogs go to the bathroom?  When are they taken for a walk?  When do they get vet care?  When are they socialized?  If you go to petabuse.com and search for Oleo Acres, you'll find a report stating that 2 men from Iowa delivering the dogs from Oleo Acres in Iowa were arrested for animal cruelty in Chicago in 2012.  The police found the dogs stacked in cages, covered in urine and feces.   Please visit www.caps-web.org and see the undercover investigation on Van Wyck, Prairie Lane Kennels,  another mill this place uses.  And to those two little creepy men walking around harrassing us all day?  We'll be back just to see you.

There's a reason why Puppy Parlor stinks to high heaven. Ask them to show you the back room. They won't because it reeks. And all those poor dogs and puppies are crammed into wire cages. Where they live 24/7. Just walk around the back of the building and listen to the dogs screaming.

For those Lisle residents who are disgusted by the fact that this fraudulent business is allowed to operate within your city limits, pls contact Mayor Broda and the trustees. Tell them you want them to pass the ordinance to ban the sale of dogs and cats in pets stores in Lisle. They have all the paperwork they need to get this done. Villa Park passed this same ordinance, Lisle can too - and legally. You pay taxes. They work for you. Make your voice heard. The dogs suffering in Puppy Parlor's back room are counting on you. So are the dogs suffering in the puppy mills. Act now. Here's their contact info:

Join us at our protest next Saturday 1/26, 1-3pm!

I am a resident of Lisle and I cannot believe this is allowed to go on in our village!! Animal cruelty on Main street!? I will be contacting Mayor Broda about this as well as the other council members. We are the only ones who can help these dogs. Their plight has been overlooked by govt. agencies for far too long! I have talked to many people in Lisle who had no idea this was going. Now we know. Now let's show the puppy parlor that we will not tolerate this in our town! Dianne has posted the village of Lisle's website above. You can contact our local officials there. Thanks for your help and feel free come and help spread the word.about this terrible place by attending a protest. Signs provided. Saturdays 1-3 until this is addressed!

Nice job!! I appaud you all for using your freedom of speech and right to assemble to take a stand on an important issue.

How about showing up at the Village Board meeting on Monday night 7 pm, sign in and make a "public comment" that will allow you to spread you message to people all over Lisle as the meetings are televised on cable Ch 10 and are posted online to watch later?

To email village officials: electedofficials@villageoflisle.org

I would like to be there for that meeting, as this is sorely needed to be spoken about. Unfortunately I'm unable to make it, or I'd be there!

This is just an atrocity what is going on in there, no living being should EVER be treated like these poor animals are being treated!

The Village of Lisle has authority to do something under State Law - IL Muncipal Act.

(65 ILCS 5/11-42-9) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-42-9)
Sec. 11-42-9. The corporate authorities of each municipality may prohibit any offensive or unwholesome business or establishment within the municipality and within the distance of one mile beyond the municipal limits.

I drove by and saw you all out there. I was wondering what going to happen with all these dogs from this and the other stores you want to shut down? Can you guarantee all of these dogs being saved because now if they're not going to owners they are going to put into shelters where they're on a lottery system and when their number is up they get destroyed. So can you tell me which of the two options are better? At least here they're being taken care of, fed and hopefully find a good home sooner then if in a shelter.

Roz B - Did you EVEN READ the IL Dept of Ag report on Puppy Parlor (pg 4)??? If you did, you wouldn't be asking which of the "two options are better!"

The dog community will work to get every dog saved from this hell hole into a no kill shelter or rescue. It is what happens when puppy mills close or hoarders are forced to give up their dogs. The life puppy mill dogs are living now are torturous. To not shut them down only condemns generation after generation to the same fate.

Seriously? Even IF they were to go to a "kill" shelter, they'd be better off where they are NOW! They don't even get human interaction where they are now, let alone taken to go potty! Do you seriously think sitting in a cage being pooped on all day, unless you're lucky enough to be the dogs in the top cages, is better than death and not having to live a nightmare like this? The lucky dogs she had were found dead, in her FREEZER!!!!! She had no problem selling puppies with parvo, until DOA came in and stopped it. Personally I'd rather see these dogs not suffer anymore.... even if that means they unfortunately cross the bridge. There's no doubt that rescues will come to the aid if they are closed down though.

For everyone who is wondering what will happen to the dogs in the store and in the back room, please ask Tammy. She is the one who put them there, not us.

I know all puppies from this stinky, dusty place, have been abuse, because I made a mistake of buying a puppy 2 years ago at 8 months old, and and up to this day still is in rehabilitation. This place should have been shut down long time ago

Miguel, I'm SO sorry to hear about the puppy mill puppy you bought from Puppy Parlor. Unfortunately, this type of story is common. Please call/email Lisle's Mayor Broda and the Trustees and ask them to pass the ordinance to ban the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores in Lisle. They have everything they need to legally do this. Tell them your story and ask them to shut Puppy Parlor down. Let your voice be heard. Your poor dog can't speak for himself, you must speak for him. Thank you! Here's how to contact them:

I did NOT mean it to be rude, nor out of line. Remember, text can be taken a million ways and inevitably it will be taken the one way you had no intentions for it to come out that way. If it sounded that way, I'm sorry.

I meant if a rescue doesn't come in, which I highly doubt they won't, I'd rather see them put down than spend another day in that hell hole and out of their misery. I wouldn't doubt if each and every day, if the dogs could, they'd be praying to be out of there or their misery to just end. This woman is absolutely despicable and needs to be closed down ASAP! I go to bed thinking of those poor babies and how we can get them closed down and out of there. I'm sorry if my passion for this came through as rude or out of line, I never meant for it too, but this woman just infuriates me!

I have read the Illinois Department of Agriculture Docket of Findings Report from the link above. The report states it was cleared by Puppy Parlor's inspector, a person in Springfield that reviewed it and a veterinarian that works for the state as being acceptable and the docket closed. So I am taking this to mean the state of Illinois does not have a problem with the store.
Ask Tammy about the puppies and dogs? She speaks for all the puppies and/or dogs in ALL the stores your group protests?

Roz B - do those findings sound 'acceptable' to you??! They are not acceptable in any rational person's mind. And, no, you should not assume the IL Dept of Ag does not have a problem with the store. You need to understand how the DOA operates. It just means that animals are considered "property" by law and until that changes, these types of hell hole puppy mill distributor stores will continue to abuse the animals in their care. And get away with it. As they've done for decades.

Secondly, we are responsible animal rescuers and will work to see any animals confiscated from these hell holes are cared for properly. For once in their short little sad lives. Tammy should foot the bill for all this, since she created the problem. But doubt that'll happen.

Did you see the photos in the report? Did you research the puppy mills where she buys her dogs? Look at photos from those places as well. If they don't make you sick and think stores like this should be shut down, you have no compassion. Do you support the treatment of dogs you see attached to this story?

I have worked with several rescues over the years and typically rescues will come in and save as many of the dogs as possible. In fact, one of my dogs came from a puppy mill that had over 200 dogs. I fostered her for one of the rescues I volunteer for. She's a german shepherd that was around three years old when I took her in, never been in a house, had absolutely no house training. She was a terrible mess, covered in feces and smelled terrible. She became such a beautiful, wonderful dog that I could not give her up so I adopted her myself. I've had her for ten years now so she's lived a nice full life although she had a terrible start. There is hope for those dogs if the place is closed and rescues are notified.

My "agdena" as you put is to find out what will happen to ALL the puppies or adult dogs in ALL the stores the protesters are trying to shut down. Nothing more. In other words will this group find homes for them or will they go to shelters and be in those lotteries or put down? All I am looking for is an answer to this question not just for Puppy Parlor but ALL the stores that CAPS and other groups are protesting. The answer ask Tammy may work for her store only I guess but I still have yet to see an answer for ALL the stores.

I still waiting for that same question to be answered Roz B. All I see is an answer for Puppy Parlor just one of MANY stores that are being protested. What will happen to ALL the puppies or dogs in ALL the stores being protested? Before anyone asks yes I read the report that is referred to.

If you, or anyone you know, purchased a puppy from Puppy Parlor in Lisle, pls click on the link below and complete a "Pet Purchase Complaint Form."

The Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS) has been successful in not only shutting down puppy mills, but also their distributors - like Puppy Parlor. It doesn't matter if the puppy/dog is alive, dead, sick or healthy. Fill out a form.

CAPS, with the aid of our attorneys, has helped complainants in recently filing a class action lawsuit against all 5 Happiness Is Pets (HIP) stores, which is working its way thru court despite HIP's lame attempts to get it dismissed. We've talked with hundreds of people who were victims of fraud in that case. People who've spent thousands of dollars in vet care for their sick or dying dogs/puppies. Many of which died anyway.

We can do it again. But we need your help. Fill out the form.

Thank you.

If you would like to read about the horrific conditions inside Puppy Parlor and their cruel treatment of their dogs and puppies, here's the investigation recently conducted by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. See page 4:
