Lisle Park District Robert Kuzmicki Recreation Education Scholarships Available
Applications are now being accepted for the Lisle Park District 2012 Robert Kuzmicki Recreation Education Scholarship. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors or current college students residing in the Lisle Park District, who exhibit a strong work ethic and exemplify a dedication to community or the advancement of environmental awareness and stewardship.
Primary criteria in the selection of the scholarship winners are demonstration of community or school service, volunteerism, environmental advocacy and personal work ethic. Please note, that although the students’ current GPA is requested, this is not necessarily a merit based scholarship. All applicants that fulfill the primary criteria will be considered and past recipients may reapply for the scholarship throughout their college careers.
Application forms are available online at http://lisleparkdistrict.org/scholarship.htm. Completed forms should be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed to: Lisle Park District Education Scholarship Committee, c/o Rachel Staats, 1925 Ohio Short Street, Lisle, IL 60532, rstaats@lisleparkdistrict.org, no later than Monday, May 7, 2012. Scholarships will be awarded at either the June or July Lisle Park District Board meeting, depending on recipient availability.
Funds for this scholarship are raised through the annual Sea Lion Aquatic Park Family Day event held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 12-5pm. Underclassmen who may be interested in the scholarship are strongly encouraged to volunteer. Please contact Rachel Staats, Marketing and Communications Specialist, at 630-964-3410 with questions.
